  Had high hopes for this one.
  We books many months in advance - we visited Orkney autumn of 2016 - and when we arrived, we were informed that a wedding party had booked the hotel for our first night there. I am pretty sure we were the only people that were "outsiders". I wish the hotel had been kind enough to give us advance notice of a big wedding so that we could have found other accommodations or at least be mentally prepared for the ruckus, or even better yet - invite the 3 strangers to join in the celebration. (I know, that is a little much to ask)
  We were not allowed to use the bar area or have access to food service for that night. That was a bit of a problem as we anticipated at a late afternoon/evening check-in that we had access to food.
  Needless to say, we also had NO sleep that night either. Upon check out on day 3, we were not given any recompense when we politely made our disappointment known. One free night out of three nights stay would have gone a long way to sooth raw nerves. I felt like the front desk staff could have cared less about us. Bottom line - we did not feel welcome.
  Given the option, (in retrospect) we would have booked elsewhere and given the hotel over to the wedding revelers to enjoy completely to themselves. (I waited months to post this so that I would be more kind in my review instead of what I might have said when the experience was fresh)
